In 1969, Douglas Ball designed the iconic Glo-Up lamp collection at a moment when design was charged with possibility—shaped by the lingering optimism of Expo ’67 and the expressive freedom of Pop Art. 

Originally manufactured by Danesco in Montreal, the collection saw a short but impactful production run across Canada before quietly fading away. You may have seen them in curated vintage lighting stores, or impeccably designed mid-century home interiors. Finding one for yourself may have seemed like too great a challenge.
